After leaving the Eppersons in Las Vegas we had an 8 hour drive to reach the next resort by Lake Tahoe. The elevation of the place was 7400 feet high! It was only a couple miles from the lake, but we had quite a view from the resort. While we were there we did some trail walking beside and around the lake itself. Yes, Kathy, we did some running to get in place while the self-timer prepared to snap the picture! I think this picture of us at the lake looks almost "fake"...kind of like we photoshopped ourselves in place on the beach, but we were REALLY right there. :) Notice me squinting into the sunlight?
Naturally, we headed into the wilderness for a little hiking, too. Found some great views of the lake from the high trails!
Since we brought the bikes along on this journey, I finally conceded to doing a 4.8 mile loop through a park, the town, beside the lake, and back to the park. Ken said it would be easy. Ha! I really worked on that round trip! (He did, too, when he had to push me along...) To be honest, there were some woodsy downhill stretches that were quite exhilarating!
For our last evening we watched the setting sun while enjoying the hot tub in the resort. The next day was a LONG, almost 11 hour drive home. Life was here waiting for us, with all it's busy-ness stacked up, but it's good to be home. We love it here, too, but it is nice to get away sometimes.

What a wonderful getaway vacation you had! The photos are beautiful (and yes, that first one DOES look kind of photo-shopped...hahahaha). Welcome home!
Thanks for sharing your trip with us! Looks like you had a great time. We'll need to chat soon.
