Oh Deer!

This is what is left of a hydrangea start that I transplanted from our old home. It's taken from the big blue one that grew beside the back deck. When I planted this into our new yard a month ago, it had lots of leaves, but now it has been "pruned" a few times, and not by me. I love that we have woods behind our house, but it does mean that the current forest dwellers will wander through my yard from time to time. It also means that I will be consulting a "deer resistant plant list" when deciding what to grow in in my landscape. Apparently some plants don't taste as wonderful to the deer...although it is also a fact that a hungry deer will eat anything. It's a new learning curve for me!
