Dog Mountain, View 2

It's a good thing we were good company for one another yesterday, or I may have been overwhelmingly disappointed. In what? The lack of flowers! That's the main reason I have subjected myself to the 3000 foot climb year after year: because the wildflowers in bloom on the mountain top are not to be believed unless you have actually seen them with your own eyes. Sadly, oh, so sadly, because our Oregon "spring" has been so cool, most of the flowers up there were not blooming yet.

Like I said, however, I was very glad for the good company, the good weather, and of course there's still the amazing viewpoint from the top. Oh, and the feeling of accomplishment from actually reaching the summit again. It was a splendid day! (Just not as colorful as it could have been...)

Yep, this is how it feels. After a rest, and a lunch. Then it's time for the victory photo!

These last three photos are from Ben's camera. There's lunch on the mountain top, the five of us back at the lookout point, and me...popping into the frame, smiling as if it's all so EASY...ha ha ha ha ha!
