We went biking again today to check out Stub Stewart Memorial Park for a possible RV trip. The Banks-Vernonia Rail Trail runs right by it, so we parked four miles away and rode in to see what we could see. It's a very beautiful ride, but it went UPHILL the whole four miles! Not really steep at all, but consistently uphill, so a couple (several) times I needed to stop and gather a little more energy to keep going! After exploring the park, we headed back to the car and the return ride was delightful. We went the entire way without ever pedaling once, and since the grade was a gradual one we didn't need to use our brakes, either. Incredible!
On our way back home we stopped to lolly-gag in Forest Grove where the town was holding it's annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Day, as well as a Corn Roast festival. What fun to hang out around town with so many happy artists, young and old. And yes, we got some corn, too. We had a fun day!
