My Accent

Last night at the Temple a woman quietly asked me where I was from.

"From?", I answered, curiously.
"It's your accent. I can't quite place it. Are you from the United States?"

When she discovered that I was, and always have been, a local NW gal, she seemed perplexed.

Pondering upon it later, I think I have identified my "accent." The kids used to comment on it ocassionally. It's called: My "Read Aloud Voice". :)

Maybe you should have said you were from Sparks Lake. :)

It's also your "answering the phone voice"...it's distinctive for sure.
