The Help

The Help, written by Kathryn Stockett

I loved this book! It was real, it was warm, it was scary, it was so believeable! The story is set in Jackson, Mississippi in 1962 and introduces us to several women who dare to do something that "crosses the line" with regard to race relations. I became so attached to Skeeter, Aibileen, and Minny that I was alternately cheering them on while holding my breath worried that they would be exposed and punished for their actions. Each of the women has her own "voice" in the book and I was completely enthralled with their stories. This is a good one. I highly recommend it!

I read this book and loved it too! It reminded me so much of my mission in Louisiana. Such a wonderful story.
