Recipe for a Fun Saturday

Take a warm sunny day, and get household chores completed while the day is cool. Visit the Farmers Market and load up on local fruit. Ever hear of a Pluot? Mmmmm. Have fresh corn on the cob for lunch.

Pack some picnic food. Round up two other amiable couples, stop for a bucket of KFC and head to Portland. Join with other "Trekkies" in the park and eat dinner. Applaud, cheer, laugh and giggle with the crowd to a faithful re-enactment of the original Star Trek episode "Amok Time", performed by a talented thespian group.

Drive home, quoting and mis-quoting memorable lines from the play. Wait! The evening is still young! Gather again to watch "Galaxy Quest" in a home theatre. The perfect movie to follow a Star Trek afternoon!

The recipe is perfect as listed, but the ingredients can be tweaked as desired and the result will still be "fun". I recommend it. :)
