Thursday morning my day was planned. I had already been out for a walk, had breakfast, showered and dressed and was ready to head to the office for a couple hours of work, then run some errands, visit my Mom, get a number of things done around the house....and then the phone rang.
My hubby had just taken the rest of the day off and suggested that we go see the RV show in Portland, so all other plans were set aside and we hopped on a Max train from Clackamas Town Center and headed to the Expo Center. There we spent many hours walking through all kinds of Recreational Vehicles. Big ones, small ones, slide outs, pop-ups, basic or elegant styles, trailers, motorhomes, fifth wheels....and they all have stairs! We must have walked through 200 different RV's and our knees certainly got a workout. It was a very enjoyable way to spend the day, even though we were exhausted when it was time to leave!
We have this long-range plan, you see. When we are all grown up, we will retire, have the house paid off, and buy a nice RV. With that RV (we are leaning towards a fifth wheel) we'd like to travel the U.S., see whatever seems interesting (and maybe some that aren't), visit all the operating Temples, spend plenty of time with kids and grandkids, go on a few Church missions (some that we would like to do require bringing your own "home"), and maybe even find out what it's like to be a "snowbird" for part of the year.
Will it really happen? Maybe. I hope so! It certainly won't without a plan, however. So we'll just keep on dreaming....and just like dreams, the plan might evolve into something very different. Stay tuned. (I will be!)
