Photo Project: Day 27

Today we took Elsie hiking up in the canyons above Provo. She walked the first mile herself, happily picking up rocks and tossing them in the bushes. She even found a choice piece of blue rope that she kept with her for the remainder of the hike. When the going got steeper we had a backpack so that she could ride along and enjoy the view from Grandpa's back.

The higher up we went the more the wind blew! At first we all laughed about it and Elsie would shout, "The WIND is coming!", but the wind kept blowing and blowing and couldn't decide whether to push us UP into the mountains, or back DOWN to the car. So it blew both directions just to keep us on our toes. After an hour of this we decided to turn back. Elsie was no longer amused by the wind and was hiding her face and trying in vain to keep her hood on as we headed back down to the car. Luckily it wasn't really cold....just windy!

Today's photo was taken when we came around the bend and could see the city of Provo down below us. Ken did his best to get all three of us in the photo, as well as the view behind us. I think it's great!

Hooray for hiking with grandchildren! Glad to hear that your adventure today was with Elsie and Ken, AND that it wasn't as wet as our adventure last week! :)
