20 minute challenge-Autumn Tree Top

A quick color sketch with oil pastels, of some trees I photographed last autumn on a cloudy, misty morning. After the sketch, I put away my reference photo and chose any color that appealed to me, and colored like a kid with no concerns about perfection. What fun! A twenty minute challenge is about loosening up and working quickly, obviously, so there's no time to get nit-picky.

One of my excuses years ago for retiring from my art was a disatisfaction of how it was going. I was too tight, I think. I'm definitely feeling ready for more impressionistic art....a touch of "whimsy" perhaps. We'll see how this progresses.

I feel all warm and fuzzy about the way you colored those fir trees.
