We thought it would be fun to greet all the kids who came to the door by being dressed up. And the kids loved it. EVERY kid who came to the door exclaimed, "It's the Cat in the Hat!!!" He was a hit with the crowds. I was there, too, but it seemed like the little ones didn't know what to make of a woman wearing a dress covered in leaves. Ha ha! Only one girl, a pre-teen, looked me over and said with feeling, "Nice dress!" I was glad to know SOMEONE appreciated it.
Our neighborhood seems to be one of those where parents drive to and walk around with their kids. Best guess of numbers, judging by how many pieces of candy we gave away, was about 100 Trick or Treaters between 6:30 and 8:00 PM. (Then our lights went out.)
Three of our favorites stopped by to get dressed and pose for pictures before they headed out the door to join the rest of the throng. Erika made these costumes and they were adorable. When their buckets were full from going door to door, they came back here where Anika and Annalyse had a great time handing out candy to the few kids who were still coming.
Aiden is a Wizard
Anika is a witch,
and so is Annalyse. I think Fancy Nancy would be this kind of witch, too.
